Police are investigating an armed robbery that left a local businessman injured early Wednesday morning as he attempted to make a bank deposit on Old Parham Road.

The victim, who operates a distribution company, told investigators he arrived at the bank around 5 a.m. and was immediately confronted by two masked men clad in dark clothing.

One of the suspects was described as slim and of fair complexion, while the other, who carried a firearm, was stocky and of dark complexion.

When the businessman tried to retreat to his vehicle, the armed suspect pointed the weapon at him and demanded money. The assailant then struck him in the left eye before seizing a bag containing an undisclosed sum of cash.

The victim sustained injuries to his eye during the attack, though police confirmed they were not life-threatening.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspects or the robbery to contact the Criminal Investigations Department. The case remains under active investigation.

  1. Make deposits in daylight hours. It’s way too risky to do so I’m darkness. Have some sort of security as well. These thieves and becoming more and more desperate

  2. Now why would you go to deposit money at that hour. It seems like it’s his routine so they were waiting. Please be vigilant especially when doing deposits. The bank should have cameras. This is madness. These thieves are stupid. I’m sure they can’t see that money.

  4. Business People who are depositing need to change their routine, like the day and time. Do not deposit during the dark period of any day. That is my advice.
