Prisoner Bites Police Officer at Gray’s Farm Station

A police officer was injured after being bitten by a prisoner during an incident at the Gray’s Farm Police Station on Tuesday evening.

According to reports, a police constable was conducting a routine prisoner check around 5:50 p.m. when he observed detainee Coteen Francis behaving erratically in his cell.

Upon opening the cell to investigate, Francis attempted to step out and had to be restrained.

During the struggle, the prisoner bit the police on his left index finger, causing it to bleed. The officer was subsequently issued a police medical form to seek treatment from a doctor.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

  5. In all my years of service, I signed up to be tough on crime, not on the menu. Next time I’m doing cell checks, I’ll be wearing gloves, not for fingerprints… but for teeth marks
