Antigua and Barbuda is giving its citizens a chance to leave their creative mark on history as the nation prepares to host the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) for the first time in 2026.
The government on Tuesday announced the launch of the CHOGM 2026 Logo Design Competition, inviting nationals at home and abroad to design the official emblem for the high-level gathering.
The winning logo will be used worldwide as the face of CHOGM 2026, appearing on event signage, merchandise, digital platforms, and official communications.
“This is a historic opportunity for Antiguans and Barbudans to put their creative stamp on an event that will draw leaders and delegates from across the Commonwealth,” officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. The ministry is coordinating the initiative in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Sports and Creative Industries. “We want a design that proudly reflects our nation’s identity while resonating on the world stage.”
Who Can Enter
The competition is open to Antiguan and Barbudan nationals everywhere, including those in the diaspora. Participants under 18 will need parental or guardian consent. Submissions may come from individuals or teams, with each allowed just one entry.
Design Rules
Entries must be original and unpublished. Designs should reflect the spirit and culture of Antigua and Barbuda and be versatile enough to work in colour or monochrome across multiple formats — from print to digital platforms to merchandise.
Designers are required to submit their work in vector format (.AI or .EPS), along with a high-resolution .PNG or .JPG. Each submission must also include a short concept statement of 100–150 words outlining the inspiration and symbolism behind the design.
The government says the competition is open to everyone — from seasoned designers to students and hobbyists — offering a chance to showcase creativity on a global stage. Details on deadlines, prizes, and judging criteria will be released in the coming weeks.

When it says Antiguans and Barbudans does that mean foreign nationals living here cannot participate?
Inst it a COMMONWEALTH event? Why the division
Love this initiative! Finally giving our creative community a chance to shine on the world stage.
Proud to see our country hosting CHOGM and even prouder that locals get to play a part in the branding.
This is a smart move. Hosting CHOGM is historic, and letting artists and designers contribute to the branding ensures the event reflects our culture and identity.
