October Declared Anti-Litter Month in Antigua and Barbuda

October has been officially designated as Anti-Litter Month in Antigua and Barbuda, with a nationwide push to clean and beautify the island.

Throughout the month, communities, schools, civic groups, and government agencies will participate in cleanup campaigns and environmental activities under the theme “Love Where You Live.”

The initiative is designed to tackle waste management challenges while instilling a sense of pride and responsibility among citizens.

The government says the month-long observance will not only improve the physical environment but also encourage long-term behavioral change in how residents treat public spaces.

Activities will include island-wide cleanup drives, public awareness campaigns, and partnerships with schools and community organizations to promote environmental stewardship.

Officials say Anti-Litter Month will serve as a reminder that maintaining a clean environment is a shared duty that benefits public health, tourism, and national development.
