LISTEN: Imported Builders Deliver Breakthrough in Housing Drive

The government has intensified its national housing programme by bringing in 50 workers from the Dominican Republic to accelerate construction under the National Housing Development initiative.

Prime Minister Gaston Browne, speaking on the matter, praised the productivity of the imported team. He revealed that reports on their performance show a dramatic increase in efficiency.

PM Browne also talked about the upcoming National Clean-Up Day.

The move comes as the government seeks to fast-track the delivery of affordable homes for citizens, a cornerstone of its development agenda.

  1. Housing and clean-up projects are important steps, but what matters is sustainability. Let’s make sure these initiatives don’t just look good in the short term but actually improve living conditions for everyone.

  2. This is exactly the kind of action we need. If the Dominican crew is helping speed up housing, then more families can get their homes faster. And the clean-up day is a great idea let’s all pitch in to make Antigua shineeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  3. Hope they don’t pick up the nasty lazy attitude of some of the other national housing workers.
All they have to hear is it going to rain and that’s it for the day tools down. I’m speaking from experience.
When they were building my house they would come around 9 and sit under my step for hours DOING NOTHING.
hopefully these new set of workers can set a good example

  10. I’m glad houses are being built, but I hope local workmen aren’t being sidelined. We also need to think long term importing workers can’t be the only solution
