ABRSC to Host Second Annual Africa-Caribbean Dress Gala Dinner on October 4

The Antigua and Barbuda Reparations Support Commission (ABRSC) will stage its Second Annual Africa-Caribbean Dress Gala Dinner on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the CortslandHotel.

The Gala follows the recently concluded 2nd Africa-CARICOM Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, a landmark event that strengthened political, economic, and cultural cooperation between the two regions. Under the banner “Transcontinental Partnership in Pursuit of Reparatory Justice for Africans and People of African Descent through Reparations,” the summit underscored the importance of unity in advancing the global reparations movement.

This year’s Gala Dinner will highlight that same spirit of connection, offering guests a fusion of African and Caribbean culture. The evening will feature a curated three-course menu, fine wines, cultural presentations, and live entertainment designed to celebrate shared heritage.

Adding glamour to the festivities, LIAT 2020 Limited has returned as a major partner, donating two round-trip tickets to any destination the airline serves. These will be awarded to the best-dressed male and female guests, ensuring a vibrant display of Afro-Caribbean fashion. Official drink sponsor Brydens will present African wines, while Community First Co-operative Credit Union and West Indies Oil Company remain valued supporters of the event.

The ABRSC emphasized that the Gala is more than a fundraiser. It is an opportunity to honor history, celebrate cultural identity, and strengthen ties with Africa while mobilizing support for reparatory justice.

Tickets are available for $200 and may be purchased through members of the Commission. The public is encouraged to take part in what promises to be a memorable evening of culture, unity, and purpose.
