Community Advocate Jermaine N. Edwards of St. John’s Rural South turned her birthday into a day of service on Monday, continuing her tradition of giving back with a donation to the Golden Grove Primary School.
Edwards presented the contribution to Principal Mrs. Joseph and teachers including Ms. James. The package included stationery supplies such as pencils, erasers, sharpeners, and rulers, as well as sanitary items for girls, all aimed at relieving some of the pressure teachers face in providing for students.
“Teachers sacrifice so much, often reaching into their own pockets to make sure no child goes without. Supporting them means strengthening the foundation of our community,” Edwards said.
She extended heartfelt thanks to Mr. Stafford Lewis, noting that his assistance was instrumental in making the donation possible. “Without his support, today’s gift could not have been realized,” she added.
Edwards emphasized that the annual initiative is about more than supplies—it is about building stronger partnerships between schools and the community. “This is about ensuring every child has the chance to learn and thrive. When we support teachers, we support the next generation,” she explained.

She also encouraged others to join the effort: “I welcome anyone in the community who feels moved to assist. Together, we can continue to uplift our schools, our teachers, and our children.”
Marking her birthday in this way, Edwards reflected: “The joy of giving is truly the best gift. You give not for recognition, but from the heart—and that is where the blessings come from.”
The gesture highlights Edwards’ ongoing commitment to Golden Grove Primary and to St. John’s Rural South, reinforcing her belief that community partnerships are essential to educational success.

Huh. Who she be???
UPP activist on the roll. This is quite hilarious. Let’s try getting some credits for the January 2026 General Election
Jermaine’s example shows that giving doesn’t have to be grand to be impactful. Small acts, done consistently, change lives.
Golden Grove Primary is lucky to have this kind of support. Acts like these leave a lasting impact on children.
