Woman Robbed at Knifepoint on Union Road

Police are investigating an early morning robbery in Hatton that left a woman shaken after being held at knifepoint and robbed of her belongings.

The victim reported that she was walking along Union Road around 3:00 a.m. when two young men approached her from behind. One was described as tall and slim, dressed in a red hoodie covering his face with long pants, while the other was shorter, wearing blue shorts and armed with a silver knife.

The assailants demanded her handbag, with one saying, “give me you bag,” before snatching it and fleeing the scene in an easterly direction. The stolen bag contained $340 in cash and a Samsung cellular phone, the value of which is yet to be determined.

Officers carried out searches in the area but were unable to locate the suspects. Investigations are ongoing.

  1. Gray’s Farm again! Is there no representative for that crime-infested region? There is nothing but a deafening silence from him/her. No leadership in evidence! And why is this woman, if sudden really go so, walking the streets of that crime-infested ghetto alone, with “valuables” in her purse, at 3:30a.m. Sounds like another UPP whopper!
