Protest Planned Over Controversial Statue in All Saints

7 October 2025 - 15:17

A local Christian group is calling for the removal of a statue they say contradicts biblical teachings, organizing a public protest under the banner “The Statue Must Come Down.”

The demonstration, spearheaded by Christians United, is set for Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 9 a.m. outside Glorious Hope Ministries on All Saints Road.

According to organizers, the protest is a united effort among believers from various denominations who believe the statue’s presence is inconsistent with scripture. The flyer cites Hosea 4:6, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” and Exodus 20:4–5, which forbids the making or worshipping of carved images.

The group insists their action is not political but faith-based, describing it as a stand for “truth and obedience to God’s word.”

“We’re standing together in faith,” the statement reads, calling on Christians across Antigua and Barbuda to join in the peaceful demonstration.

The protest adds a new chapter to ongoing debates about religious symbolism, cultural expression, and freedom of belief within the country. Authorities have not yet commented on the planned gathering.

  1. Comment *A protest against a biblical statue but not the one at Hodges Bay that keep throwing moon parties.
A protest against a biblical statue but not against the rise in crime.
A protest against a biblical prophetic statue I might add but not against the spiritual darkness that hovers over the nation.

you all are some special people around here.

    • All that is well and hood, yo break down every ifol and to cast out every foe. Nevertheless, before you can succeed with those things, Antiguan Christiabs must get down on their knees and also stand up on their feet to pray for God’s divine cure of their hearts from the sin of FORNICATION and ADULTERY. The nation is sinking because of this particular sin. Antiguans Repent and turn from your wicked ways, first. You need a Ninevah experience. Even the animals need to fast as you fast, that God might raise up this nation of Antigua and Barbuda. Righteousness exhalts a nation; but SIN is a reproach to any people. See what the Bible says, “Any people.” It does not matter how special, wealthy, or noble a people nay think of themselves sin will bring you down to the very dump heaps if you do not conquer it in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Even after your deliverance you still need to have an hatred for sin and a love for righteousness.

  3. The statue that’s being protested for is mentioned in the bible in Daniel.

    Daniel 2:32 NKJV
[32] This image’s head was of fine gold, its chest and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of bronze.

That statue you speak of isn’t…

For those other things you mentioned prayer is what’s needed, prayer and people willing to change and accept God as father.

Every problem has a different way to be resolved.

  4. Start by taking down all the images of Christ, Mary etc from your churches. Whole lot of hypocrisy. The staue was not meant for worship but awareness.

  6. If the statue offends or disrespects the community’s values, the people have a right to speak up. Public spaces should reflect the public.
