APUA Delays Opening of Commercial Locations Amid Heavy Rains from Tropical Storm Jerry

10 October 2025 - 07:46

The Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) has announced a delayed opening for all its commercial locations today due to the ongoing impact of Tropical Storm Jerry, which continues to bring heavy rainfall across the island.

The affected branches include Independence Avenue, Village Walk, South Mall, the Mobile Payment Centre, Old Parham Road, and Market Street.

APUA says the decision was made to ensure the safety of both customers and employees as the weather system continues to produce flooding and hazardous road conditions.

The Authority noted that an update on operating hours will be shared later in the morning as officials continue to monitor the situation.

Customers are reminded that online payments can be made via the APUA Online Portal at www.apua.ag or through partner banks and credit unions.

APUA is encouraging the public to stay tuned to its social media pages for further updates and to exercise caution while traveling on flooded roads.

  2. Makes sense no point risking staff safety just to open in this weather. Jerry really got the island on pause.
