The Antigua and Barbuda Red Cross Society (ABRCS) has relaunched its Mobile Clinic, just months after the vital health unit was severely vandalized in mid-May.
The attack left the clinic’s equipment damaged and supplies stolen, including its air-conditioning unit, the latest in a string of break-ins targeting the organization’s property. Windows were smashed, and even the generator had been stolen twice in previous years.

Despite the setback, the ABRCS moved quickly to restore the vehicle, repainting, rebranding, and reinforcing it with new security windows and locks. An air-conditioning unit from the main headquarters was repurposed to replace the stolen one.
ABRCS President Dr. Jose Humphreys called the vandalism “heartbreaking but not defeating,” thanking the Mill Reef Fund, Fleet and Logistics Manager Jameel Ambrose, and M. Etwaru Construction Service for their support in getting the clinic back on the road.
The mobile unit provides essential health services such as screenings, vaccinations, maternal care, and disaster health support, particularly to underserved communities.
The Red Cross says new security upgrades, including reinforced doors, shutters, CCTV cameras, and access controls, are now in place to prevent future incidents. The organization described the clinic’s relaunch as a symbol of resilience and renewed commitment to humanitarian service.

Again the acts of men and their wickedness. Hopefully you all can institute stronger measures to keep your property secure
Great move . It was sad what happened to them and the vandalizm
These mobile clinics are critical and important to healthcare on the go
They kelp alot in dealing with little things like BP checks. So that’s a good thing
So glad to see the Red Cross mobile clinic back in action after such an unnecessary setback. The vandalism was disappointing, but this relaunch shows true resilience and commitment to community care.
Big respect to the Red Cross team for bouncing back so quickly. That’s real dedication to serving the community.
