Hezekiah Parker Jr. has been fined $10,000 for possession of cannabis.
On Monday, he was given one year to pay the fine, with the alternative of serving one year imprisonment if he defaults on the payment.
The charges stem from Parker’s arrest on June 1, when police executed a search warrant at his residence. During the search, officers discovered 127 grams of cannabis valued at $1,270, along with cash found on the premises.
Parker was subsequently arrested and charged in connection with the findings. He has remained on bail since his initial arrest and charging.
Parker entered his guilty plea before the Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel last month.

AGAIN IN SCREAMMMMMMMMMMMM WHO GOES TO JAIL FOR PLANTS
Comment *Antigua justice system soft bad. One year fi pay $10,000? That easy if you got family money. Some man can’t even find $100 for bail.
So wait, man get catch wid over a hundred grams a weed and is just $10,000 fine? But if was some poor youth from Point or Ottos, he done gone up prison already. Smh, justice sweet for some people
Me na support no drugs, but me feel like dem law need fixing. Weed almost legal, but we still treating people like criminal. Pick a side, man.
$10,000 for a little weed? That’s steep. Feels like we’re still punishing people too harshly for something the rest of the world is learning to regulate instead of criminalize.
Like you have to hustle more now. You’ll make it
All ah dem fighting over weed when the real criminals importing big shipment still free. Police need go after the big fish, not small fry.
I sorry but the courts too soft. That same money coulda fix a road or pay some poor people water bill. Stop rewarding bad behavior
We need one clear cannabis policy. Legalize and tax it, so government can make money instead of wasting time dragging people court
