A peaceful protest calling for justice in the police shooting death of 18-year-old Khaleel Simon will be held this Friday, October 17, at 3 p.m. outside the Bolans Police Station.

The demonstration, initially scheduled for last Friday, was postponed due to inclement weather associated with Tropical Storm Jerry. Organizers say this week’s gathering will move forward “rain or shine,” as frustration continues to mount over the lack of answers surrounding the young man’s death.

The protest is being led by Opposition MP Kelvin “Shugy” Simon, who has been a vocal supporter of Khaleel’s family and the Bolans community since the tragedy. He told Antigua.News that the family intends to be out in full force.

“Let us continue to fight for this young man,” Simon said. “Let your voice be heard, come out. The family is still mourning, the community is still traumatized. We must continue to demand answers as to why Kaleel was shot the way he was shot.”

Simon urged citizens from across Antigua and Barbuda to stand in solidarity with the grieving family, describing the case as “a moment for national reflection on accountability and compassion.”

“This isn’t about politics,” Simon emphasized. “This is about justice. It’s about ensuring that no other young person loses their life without reason or explanation. We owe that to Kaleel, to his family, and to the people of Antigua and Barbuda.”
Kahleel Simon, was fatally shot by police on his 18th birthday in Bolans.
