Liat Air has announced the launch of two new direct routes to the Dominican Republic, expanding its regional footprint and strengthening Caribbean connectivity.

Beginning December 12, 2025, the airline will commence flights to Santo Domingo (SDQ), followed by the launch of service to Punta Cana (PUJ) on December 15, 2025.

The addition of these routes marks a major milestone in Liat Air’s strategic growth plan, enhancing travel links between Antigua and Barbuda, the Dominican Republic, and the wider Caribbean.

The new services are expected to benefit families, business travelers, and diaspora communities, while fostering trade, tourism, and cultural exchange.

Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic’s capital and economic hub, will serve as a key destination for government officials, students, and corporate travelers.

Meanwhile, Punta Cana — known globally for its luxurious resorts and pristine beaches — will appeal to leisure travelers seeking new getaway experiences.

Liat Air’s CEO, Hafsah Abdulsalam, described the move as a natural evolution of the airline’s mission to unite the region.

“Our entry into the Dominican Republic reflects our ongoing commitment to making inter-island travel more seamless and accessible. These new routes meet a growing demand for greater regional mobility and support tourism, business, and community connections across the Caribbean,” she said.

Beyond passenger travel, the new routes will facilitate the flow of goods and services, creating fresh opportunities for regional commerce and collaboration.

  1. This is good news. I no longer have to go through PR or Miami to get to Punta Cana. That took half a day from my trip there last year. Hope the prices are attractive

  2. Let’s just hope the prices stay affordable. Accessibility is key if this is going to work.
