Active Tropical Wave to Bring Showers and Thunderstorms to Antigua and Barbuda

Residents of Antigua and Barbuda are being advised to brace for wet weather as an active tropical wave, with the potential to develop into a tropical cyclone, is expected to pass through the region from Sunday night into Monday morning.

Meteorologists say the system is likely to bring intermittent showers and thunderstorms, with rainfall totals forecasted to range between 10 and 20 mm (0.4 to 0.8 in.), though isolated areas could see higher amounts.

Authorities note that while the risk to life and property is currently considered low, the weather could disrupt normal daily routines, including commuting and outdoor activities. Residents are urged to stay informed through official forecasts and take precautionary measures as necessary.

The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Service continues to monitor the system closely and will provide updates if the situation intensifies.
