Tensions ran high in the village of Bolans on Friday afternoon as family members, friends, and residents staged a protest outside the Bolans Police Station, demanding justice for 18-year-old Khaleel Simon, who was shot and killed by police on August 27, 2025.
The demonstration marked the latest in a series of protests organized by Simon’s relatives and supporters since his death. The family has maintained that Simon was not given a fair chance before he was fatally shot on the day he turned 18.
Protesters lined the street in front of the station, demanding that the officer who fired the fatal shot be removed from duty and that a full and transparent investigation be carried out.
Among those present was the Parliamentary Representative for St. Mary’s South, Kelvin “Shuggy” Simon, who attended the protest, calling for justice and demanding answers for the family.
Acting Police Commissioner Everton Jeffers has confirmed that the matter remains under investigation and has given the assurance that appropriate actions will be taken once the process is complete.
The family has vowed to continue this action until justice is achieved, insisting that they will not rest until the case is resolved and those responsible are held accountable.
The killing of Khaleel Simon has reignited discussions about police conduct and accountability, with residents of Bolans and surrounding communities expressing growing concern over the incident and its handling.

These people are relentless and I LOVE IT. Keep putting pressure on them to give the family answers
It’s really heartbreaking to see the community have to take to the streets just to be heard. Justice shouldn’t require this much shouting — someone needs to answer for what happened to Khaleel.
