Fogging schedule announced for mosquito control in several communities

The Central Board of Health (CBH) has released its latest mosquito fogging schedule as part of the national vector control programme aimed at reducing the population of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, the carrier of dengue, chikungunya, and Zika viruses.

The operation will run from October 20th to 24th, 2025, with early morning and afternoon sessions in various communities across Antigua.

According to the schedule, fogging will begin daily at 4:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Morning operations (4:30 a.m.) will target:
• Monday: Upper Gambles, Carnival Gardens, Sutherlands
• Tuesday: Clarehall, Johnsons Village
• Wednesday: Cassada Gardens
• Thursday: Cassada Gardens
• Friday: Cassada Gardens, Skerritts Pasture

Afternoon operations (4:30 p.m.) will include:
• Monday: Gunthorpes
• Tuesday: Bendals
• Wednesday: Cashew Hill
• Thursday: Golden Grove
• Friday: No fogging scheduled

Residents are being urged to take necessary precautions during the exercise. The CBH advises motorists to drive carefully in fogged areas and encourages persons with respiratory conditions to remain indoors during operations.

Additionally, households are reminded to assist with mosquito control by eliminating stagnant water, covering containers, and keeping their surroundings clean.

The Ministry notes that in the event of rain or high winds, fogging will be postponed and resumed on the next available day until all areas are completed.

For more information, residents may contact the Vector Control Unit at (268) 764-4327.
