Letter: The Management and Sales Staff at Harney Motors Should Be Ashamed of Themselves

Dear Editor,

I am highly upset and disappointed with the Management and sales Staff of Harney Motors Ltd.

The Great Prime Minister exposed the Illegal duty-free racket Harney Motors has been running for a while. No one can tell me that Harney Motors did not know that the Cabinet must approve all duty-free goods before being issued to its customers.

This is a robbery of State resources and funds, and Harney Motors ought to pay back every red cent they stole from the taxpayers of this country. They can afford to do so because they are wealthy millionaires.

I was always suspicious of Harney Motors because they sell vehicles every month, usually at a rapid pace, which are often overpriced.

Also, serious consequences should arrive for the Management and Sales Staff of Harney Motors for running a mock the scandal to include not just the payback, but also hefty fines and JAIL TIME for the WICKED racket Harney Motors ran knowing it was wrong.

Prime Minister keep on their case. What a wicked set of people.

Disgusted Citizen Albert Hughes

  2. I hope the good pm is correct about the duties. Because most dealers do showroom bond. Where taxes are paid to customs after sale.

Also electric vehicles are duty exempt if I’m correct.

Let’s leave the big boys to sort this out and after an inquiry we will talk, because if the good pm does not get this correct we the tax payers will be the ones footing the defamation lawsuit bill. Making harney millions more.

That said. Let’s not get distracted from the vehicle gate . 2 weeks nah gone yet. Let’s watch n see how everything plays out.

    • I can’t believe people in Antigua is stupid. So you trying to tell me Government never know about dealership doing this. Righhhhhht because I was born yesterday, this is simply the dealership and the government breaking some kind of under hand partnership allegedly and now the government bringing it to light before they look bad, I hate when villains act like victims.

  6. It’s funny how everyone suddenly “didn’t know” Cabinet approval was required. These companies have been operating for years … they know exactly how the system works. Sounds like some people were just hoping they wouldn’t get caught
