The Ministry of Health has started distributing more than 500 free prescription eyeglasses to residents who participated in July’s health fair organized in collaboration with United Hands Incorporated and the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
The distribution takes place today and tomorrow at 39ers Square, Ministry of Health Headquarters, with collection times based on the first letter of recipients’ surnames:• A–D: Monday, Oct. 27, 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
• E–I: Monday, Oct. 27, 2:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.
• J–Z: Tuesday, Oct. 28, 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Recipients must present valid identification to collect their glasses.
The Ministry said the initiative delivers on its promise to provide free prescription eyewear to individuals assessed during the July fair. After months of processing and manufacturing, the glasses have now arrived and are ready for collection.
Health Minister Sir Molwyn Joseph expressed gratitude to United Hands and the Seventh-day Adventist Church for their partnership, describing the project as “a testament to our shared vision of improving the quality of life for all citizens.”

This is a very good initiative cause the price they charging for dem glasses in Antigua is like a mortgage payment
Great job to those organizing this. It’s one of those simple but powerful ways to make a real impact.
This is the kind of program that actually makes a difference. Clear vision isn’t a luxury it’s a necessity.
