The family of 18-year-old Kahleel Simon is renewing calls for justice, holding a peaceful protest last Friday.
Relatives, friends, and supporters gathered earlier this week for an emotional vigil near Simon’s home community, lighting candles and sharing prayers for “truth, transparency, and accountability.” Many wore shirts bearing his photo, with the words “Justice for Kahleel” boldly printed across the front.
On Friday, the family led a second public demonstration, this time outside the Police Headquarters on American Road, the 4th of its kind. They were demanding progress in the case and calling for answers from law enforcement officials.
The family says they will continue to hold peaceful demonstrations until they are satisfied that all the facts surrounding Kahleel’s death are brought to light and those responsible are held accountable.
Community activists have also joined the call, urging the authorities to maintain transparency and provide timely updates to the public.

The longer the police r continue to drag their feet on failing to provide critical answers to the murdered boy’s family and to the public at large, the worse it will become. I am seriously considering joining this family in their weekly protests, something i have never done in my life. Just think of it. To have you son, your brother, your grandson, your nephew killed by the police, on his 18th birthday, mere yards away from his home !!! I believe that hundreds others will, in time, join your crusade for justice! This is heartbreaking!
I’m not hearing anything about this case. What is the update from the police
May you recieve justice but we are not convinced since so many are awaiting justice themselves.
Rest easy young king. We will keep calling your name until justice speaks
The persistence of Kahleel Simon’s family shows how deep the wounds of mistrust between the public and police still run. Four protests in and still no closure, that alone says something’s seriously wrong in the system.
It’s been too long and still no justice. How many more protests before somebody take this serious? That young man deserve answers, his family deserve peace.
I don’t know Kahleel personally, but as a mother my heart breaks for his family. Nobody should have to fight this hard just to be heard
They could make heads roll when it come to politics, but drag their feet when it come to justice. Antigua too small for these things to just disappear.
