Cabinet considers moving Senior Panorama to Sir Viv

Consideration is being made to move the senior panorama competition which usually takes place during the Carnival celebrations to the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium.

Cabinet Spokesperson Maurice Merchant mentioned it during the Post-Cabinet Press Briefing on Thursday.

One proposal on the consideration is to host the Senior Panorama competition at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, utilizing a similar two-stage format. Further discussions however on this initiative will continue of course with stakeholders,” Merchant said.

This will be an interesting development as the Carnival celebrations usually take place at the Antigua Recreation Grounds (ARG).

Merchant was speaking on the backdrop of the successful hosting of the Schools Panorama competition last month at Sir Viv.

During the competition, two stages were used to facilitate the swift setting up of the 16 participating orchestras on that night.

This layout received many praises from the public as the show moved swiftly and was completed in a timely manner.

Villa Primary and Christ the King High School were victorious.
