The tourism season has officially kicked off in Antigua and Barbuda — and the outlook is bright. From bustling cruise ship arrivals to smiling first-time visitors eager to explore, the twin-island paradise is already buzzing with activity and anticipation for what promises to be a successful winter season.

Couple disembarks from cruise ship in Antigua

The season start off with real good vibes. Ships coming steady, the vendors finally seeing some movement, and the whole city feeling alive again. Plenty first-time visitors already saying how beautiful the island is, so that’s a big plus for Antigua and Barbuda.
If we don’t get serious about infrastructure, customer service, and overall management, the same tourists we’re depending on will go back home with mixed reviews. We can’t keep advertising paradise and then drop the ball on the basics clean spaces, proper facilities, and organized transportation.
The tourists love antigua but because that’s the last destination they always broke when they land by boat. That’s bad for us
I hope they all have such a great time in Antigua that they go back and sing our praises resulting in triple arrival numbers next year
But let’s be honest some things still not up to the standard. A few areas around the port untidy, some service slow, and certain attractions not fully ready for the volume of people coming in. If we want to stay competitive, these little things need fixing fast.
The start look promising, but we have to keep standards high all season. Antigua and Barbuda can be world-class, but only if we act like a world-class destination.
Let’s enjoy the excitement, but let’s not pretend everything perfect. Garbage in the city, long lines, potholes near major attractions these things matter. Visitors notice what we ignore.
A promising start indeed! Now it’s up to all of us to keep the islands clean and welcoming for visitors.
