Attorney General Sir Steadroy Benjamin and Prime Minister Gaston Browne share a laugh in Parliament
Antigua and Barbuda’s national budget will be presented on December 4th, and Prime Minister and Finance Minister Gaston Browne has begun offering a preview of what the public can expect.
Speaking to ABS after Thursday’s Throne Speech, Browne hinted that the 2026 budget will focus heavily on strengthening the economy, expanding social programs, and improving key public services.

It will be interesting to see how the government plans to fund new programs while keeping fiscal responsibility in check.
Public services definitely need upgrades—water, roads, education, health. Hoping the budget tackles those head-on.
Social programs sound great on paper. The challenge is proper implementation and oversight.
I’m eager to see what else is in store
Comment *We need real help for small businesses. A lot of them are barely hanging on
They say this every year. We need to see real delivery, not just nice lines in a speech
Expect a people-friendly budget. With the economy under pressure, the administration needs to reassure voters.
We can expect another budget painted with fair colors. How the economy is growing, some incoherent nonsense about GDP, empty promises and colossal failures. This dude is a first class idiot and thinks all Antiguans are fools. He’s had eleven years and the only thing growing is crime, corruption and the bank accounts of the cabinet and his family.
