Antigua and Barbuda Secures New Aviation Partnership for FBO Development at VC Bird International Airport
The Embassy of Antigua and Barbuda to the United Arab Emirates has announced a major step forward in the nation’s aviation sector with the signing of a strategic Memorandum of Understanding between global aviation company Jetex and advisory firm Diplomatic Solutions. The agreement was formalised this week on the sidelines of the Dubai Airshow 2025.
The partnership clears the way for the development of a state-of-the-art Fixed Base Operation (FBO) at VC Bird International Airport, designed to cater to the growing private aviation market in the Caribbean. The planned facility is expected to feature luxury lounges, concierge services, and streamlined aircraft handling, offering a premium gateway into Antigua and Barbuda for high-net-worth travellers and private jet operators.
According to the Embassy, the project reflects the strengthening economic relationship between Antigua and Barbuda and the UAE, and represents a significant investment in national infrastructure. Officials say the Embassy played a central role in facilitating the agreement, which is expected to enhance the country’s appeal as a high-end tourism and business destination.
The development is also anticipated to create new economic opportunities, support job creation, and further position Antigua and Barbuda as a regional leader in luxury aviation services.
Jetex, recognised internationally for its executive aviation services, plans to bring its signature brand of high-end, hospitality-driven operations to the new facility. Diplomatic Solutions, known for guiding private-public partnerships, will work alongside Jetex and local authorities to advance the project.
Construction timelines and service details are expected to be announced as planning progresses.

I’m hearing about all kinds of partnerships but what tangible comes out of them?
Hopefully this means smoother operations at VC Bird and more opportunities for local aviation professionals.
