(L-r) Terry Williams of Nut Grove and Damien Henry of Bathlodge

Police have apprehended and jointly charged 24-year-old Damien Henry from Bathlodge and 20-year-old Terry Williams from Nut Grove in relation to a theft incident at Valley Church Beach. On Tuesday, December 2, at approximately 1:30 p.m., beach security personnel at Valley Church Beach alerted the Bolans Police Station about a theft.

The report stated that two visitors had their bag stolen while they were swimming. Witnesses indicated that a young male had taken the visitors’ bag and fled the scene in an orange Honda Fit.

Thanks to a coordinated effort between the Bolans Police Station and the Johnson’s Point Police Station, the vehicle was intercepted at Johnson’s Point with both suspects inside. Officers successfully recovered the bag along with its contents.

Henry and Williams have been arrested and are now formally charged with the offense. They are set to appear in court today to respond to the charges. The Police Administration praises the officers for their quick response and urges both residents and visitors to remain vigilant at beaches and other public spaces.

  7. Good job to the officers — fast work. But we need more patrols on these beaches. Tourism na play, one bad incident could mash up the whole country reputation.
