Prime Minister Gaston Browne used Thursday’s Budget Presentation to unveil one of the most expansive national agendas in recent years, pledging free university tuition, a transformed healthcare system, stronger social safety nets and billions in new investments to fuel economic growth.
The 2026 Budget, he said, is designed to lift families, modernise key sectors and strengthen the foundations of a rapidly evolving economy.

Prime Minister Gaston Browne

I pray in the year 2026 we will see more improvement in the country’s infrastructure, water distribution, healthcare and education.
Another thing, the reinstated of the early retirement at age 60. Right now some of us bodies are tired and just can’t go on working no more, especially in the hotel industry and construction fields. Removing that early retirement option was a blow for some of us citizens.
Ok I’m still stuck on the announcement of the free university tuition. This is every parent’s ambition… For their child to go to university
If the government delivers on even half of these initiatives, 2026 could be a turning point for the country
Good to see growth and social support being prioritized, especially with the cost of living still hitting families hard.
