Sir Ronald Saunders, Antigua and Barbuda’s Ambassador to the United States
Antiguans and Barbudans who currently hold valid United States visas will continue to travel to the U.S. without interruption, according to the country’s Ambassador to the United States, Sir Ronald Sanders.
Speaking to the state-owned media ABS, following high-level discussions in Washington, D.C. on Friday, Sir Ronald confirmed that there will be no revocation of existing visas and no disruption to travel for nationals who already possess valid documentation.
The assurance comes after urgent diplomatic engagements between Antigua and Barbuda and senior U.S. officials, held just days after President Donald Trump issued a proclamation affecting several countries.
Sir Ronald said an agreement was reached within three days of the proclamation—well ahead of the 180-day review period outlined by the U.S. administration—underscoring what he described as the strength of Antigua and Barbuda’s diplomatic relations and the respect the country commands internationally.
In addition to protecting current visa holders, the ambassador revealed that new arrangements will be introduced for future visa applicants from Antigua and Barbuda, as well as four other countries in the sub-region that operate Citizenship by Investment Programmes.

This shows how disrespectful the US is to small island states. You make a decision then you negotiate
Jingle bells Jingle bells jingle all the way
Mr Ambassador, you make no news here. The proclamation itself made it clean that holders of US visas with Antigua and Barbuda passport were exempted. Why are you trying to fool the people into thinking that you have achieved something. You are better than that. Stop it! Go to the real work in getting the proclamation rescinded. Congtats on the good work in the past.
