Police Investigate Brutal Beach Attack on American Businesswoman

Police are investigating a vicious and disturbing attack on an American businesswoman, who was brutally assaulted while offering horseback riding services along Runaway Beach in Antigua.

Multiple sources have confirmed to Antigua.news that the woman was attacked by a man who reportedly emerged from nearby bushes, pulled her from her horse, and repeatedly beat her, leaving her severely injured. The incident is believed to have occurred in the vicinity of the former Rush nightclub, a popular coastal area.

According to accounts circulating among residents and individuals familiar with the matter, the woman was discovered badly beaten, with only her horse nearby. She was rushed to Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where she was reportedly admitted as a Jane Doe due to the severity of her injuries and the extent of facial trauma she had sustained.

“She was nearly dead when she was found,” one widely shared message stated. “Her face was completely unrecognizable. She was on a ventilator and in critical condition.”

Sources further indicate that she recently started her own horseback-riding business after separating from a former partner.

Due to the seriousness of her condition, she was later airlifted out of Antigua by air ambulance to the United States for advanced medical treatment. As of the most recent updates shared by those close to her, she remains in critical condition.

Another message circulating among acquaintances described the shock of seeing the woman after the attack, stating that her facial injuries were extensive and deeply distressing. She was reportedly flown back to the United States on Friday afternoon for continued care.

The brutal nature of the attack has sparked widespread concern, particularly given its alleged location in a well-known tourist area. Despite the seriousness of the incident, there has been no official public statement issued by the Police, the Ministry of Tourism, or other authorities as of December 22, 2025.

At this time, police have only confirmed that investigations are ongoing.

Antigua.news will continue to follow this developing story and provide updates as soon as official information becomes available.

  2. Why the rush to get a statement from the Ministry of Tourism???? Was this victim a tourist??? A popular restaurant at Darkwood Beach was broken into a few days ago. Did the author of this report or agents acting on her behalf call for an explanation(?) from the said Ministry? Both incidents are unfortunate and the fact that one victim is white and female and the other black and male should not raise the alarm bell louder than the other. I take it that both entrepreneurs legally licensed to conduct business in tourism sector. The persistent belief in white fragility is sickening!!And, by the way what of the Chantal Crump murder story. Have Antiguans gone to sleep on this issue??? Save some righteous indignation for this travesty!!

    • Faithfull National well said. However, you simply cannot compare a break in where no one is hurt and injured with what happened to this woman (black or white). I hope she pulls through and the culprit is caught and face the full force of the law.

    • It’s not about white fragility! If a Western citizen is harmed or murdered outside of their country, their authorities are informed via the embassy of the country or other means . Therefore it is important for diplomatic relations and tourism that it is reported in the local news. This attack sounds very severe, we did not even have the means to help her, and she was flown out to the US. It and it sounds like the attack may impact the victims quality of life. You can’t compare it to a break in which happens regularly.
