The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda has responded to public remarks made by Opposition Leader Jamale Pringle, expressing disappointment over statements they say misrepresented the nature of his recent summons for questioning.
According to police, Pringle was formally invited to assist in the ongoing investigation into the malicious damage of APUA property at Old Road.
Police say discussions were held directly with Commissioner Everton Jeffers, during which Pringle agreed to report to Police Headquarters at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 26. His attorney also confirmed both awareness of and compliance with the arrangements.
The Police Administration stated that Pringle’s cooperation was sought solely to gather information relevant to the investigation, and stressed that the Opposition Leader was not ambushed nor improperly targeted.
In a statement, law-enforcement officials said it was “unfortunate” that Pringle later made public comments suggesting otherwise, comments they believe contradict the agreed-upon plan.
The Police reaffirmed their commitment to carrying out investigations professionally and impartially, regardless of political or public status.
They further reminded the public that respect for the law applies to all citizens, and assured that officers will continue performing their duties without bias or political influence as inquiries into the Old Road incident continue.

Make this make sense please
What a wonderful day to be alive.
Commical country. Dollyhouse
They just live to create drama. All this was so unnecessary
So, because Pringle agreed to go and talk to the police, does that mean the police weren’t influenced by the PM to call him in? Was it a coincidence that he was asked to come in AFTER
the prime minister accused him of inciting the destruction of APUA’s materials? Didn’t the PM say in his heart he believes Pringle is responsible? So why can’t Pringle say he believes his questioing is a direct result of the PM’s statement?
Let’s get some movement on the police murders, since the law applies to all; police included?
I’ve been to headquarters. The police there are unprofessional.
If Pringle has evidence, bring it. If not, stop crying wolf.
