All passengers are now at their respective gates, and no flights were missed this afternoon after V.C. Bird International Airport cleared a temporary baggage backlog that had earlier contributed to delays.

Airport officials confirmed to Antigua.news that the issue, caused by a surge in passenger traffic, has been fully resolved.

“The back-log reported in your story has been virtually cleared,” the official said, noting that airport teams worked quickly to restore smooth operations.

“We were dealing with another high traffic day, comparable to a Saturday, which posed an understandable strain on our CTXs,” the official said.

Despite a brief backlog, airport management ensured travelers cleared screening in time for departure.

“All passengers are literally at their respective gates.”
