Mrs. Judy Thomas-Ward
A heartfelt community appeal has been launched to support 43-year-old Bolans resident, Mrs. Judy Thomas-Ward, who urgently requires overseas medical care as she battles cancer.
Thomas-Ward, a long-serving Government employee with the Ministry of Labour for the past two decades, has been referred to Colombia for critical treatment. The total cost of care, travel, and accommodation is estimated at US $85,000, with an immediate fundraising target of US $40,000 to cover essential medical expenses for her initial four-month stay.
Known widely across Antigua and Barbuda for her contributions to national sports, Thomas-Ward is a former youth and senior national footballer, a referee, a softball player, and an executive member of the Football Referees Association. She is also a proud mother of five children.
Family and supporters say this treatment presents a vital opportunity to improve her health and continue her life’s work serving her family, country, and community.

As the community rallies behind her, there is hope that collective generosity will help give Thomas-Ward a renewed chance at life.

Bolans strong! We’re with you Judy. Let’s help make this treatment possible.” 💪🏽❤️
Isn’t that why we contribute to the Medical Benefits Scheme, to pay for a percentage or all of our medical expenses? We need a national Healthcare insurance system that would deduct a percentage from our salaries to contribute to it, similiar like Social Security, MBS, and the Education Levy. This will help many citizens who cannot afford good medical care/treatment.
Sharing this so more people can help. Stay strong Judy, we’re rooting for you!” 🌼
No one should have to face this alone. Every little bit will make a difference.
I fully endorse
It’s so scary knowing someone’s life depends on us acting fast. I hope people respond quickly.
She’s a fighter on and off the field. Let’s rally around her and help her win this battle.
