Dominica has officially added a new faith-based event to its national calendar with the launch of the Glory in Paradise National Gospel Festival, an initiative designed to blend worship, culture, and tourism.

The festival was formally introduced by the Ministry of Tourism of Dominica in collaboration with the Discover Dominica Authority, alongside faith-based organizations and community partners. Organisers describe the event as a nationwide celebration designed to strengthen spiritual connection while enhancing Dominica’s tourism offerings.

The inaugural edition of Glory in Paradise is set for Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium, beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Speaking during a press briefing in Roseau, officials outlined a vision for the festival as both a spiritual and cultural experience, bringing together gospel music, worship, and community engagement. The event is expected to attract residents, visitors, and members of the Dominican diaspora, while supporting the country’s growing focus on faith-based tourism.

Tourism Minister Denise Charles Pemberton said the festival forms part of the government’s broader strategy to expand and diversify national events.

She noted that Glory in Paradise is being given the same level of strategic planning, operational focus, and promotional support as the island’s flagship events, including the World Creole Music Festival.

Echoing those sentiments, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Tourism Marva Williams said the Discover Dominica Authority is approaching the gospel festival with equal professionalism and commitment.

Admission to the event will be free, with donations welcomed at the entrance. Organisers are encouraging the public to attend and contribute as they are able.

The programme will feature prayer, praise, and fellowship, with special focus on families, youth, peace, national development, and environmental stewardship. It will also provide opportunities for Christian youth and local performers to share the stage with regional and international artists, supporting artistic development and collaboration.

The local lineup includes DJ Alfie, J-Cro (Calvin Deravariere), Champion in God, Mickael Ferrol, Angel Joseph, Sanctified, Nyel Grove, Vessels of Honour, Jerry Lloyd, Loubiere Catholic Youth Choir, Henrietta Matthew, Angel Anthony, Lieselle, Lamar Jervier, Qadosh (dance), Expressions of Him Speech Chorale, and TGFG Youth Singers.

Confirmed regional performers are Carlene Davis, Positive, and Blessed Messenger. International acts include Nigerian gospel stars Sinach and Ada Ehi, as well as American gospel artist Travis Greene.

The Ministry of Tourism and the Discover Dominica Authority have expressed appreciation to faith leaders, community advocates, and partners who helped shape the festival, stressing that continued collaboration across government, private sector, and faith communities will be key to its long-term success.
