Opposition to Hold Virtual Rally Focused on Latest US Visa Bond

The United Progressive Party (UPP) has announced plans to host an extraordinary virtual public rally on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. to discuss a range of national issues, including the recently introduced U.S. visa bond requirement.

The UPP says the rally will focus on concerns surrounding the US$15,000 visa bond policy affecting certain travelers, as well as broader governance and accountability matters. The event also references ongoing public debate linked to what the party describes as the “$15 million vehicle gate” controversy, framing both issues within a wider critique of the current administration.

The UPP says the virtual forum is intended to encourage national dialogue and public participation, particularly among Antiguans and Barbudans at home and in the diaspora, on policies and developments they believe are impacting the country’s international standing and citizens’ mobility.

The flyer directly attributes responsibility for the issues raised to the administration led by Prime Minister Gaston Browne, asserting that the country has become increasingly isolated under his leadership.

The government has previously rejected similar claims, maintaining that its policies are aimed at protecting national interests and strengthening international partnerships.

    • Sorry Dark Chocolate, that is such a lame question. The government in power is to blame and ABLP is in power!! Surely you have noticed how they have ruined the country? $15M of tax payers money fraudulently and corruptly misused and no one is held accountable, are you suggesting this is normal?
