Cabinet approves Antigua and Barbuda as host of Caribbean–European Union Parliamentary Assembly

The Cabinet has approved Antigua and Barbuda as the host of the Caribbean–European Union Parliamentary Assembly, scheduled for 14–20 February 2026.

The high-level gathering will bring together parliamentarians from Caribbean states and the European Union to strengthen political dialogue and parliamentary cooperation. Cabinet noted that hosting the Assembly also complements the country’s preparations for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been designated the lead coordinating agency, working alongside Parliament, the Office of the Prime Minister, and key ministries including National Security, Tourism, Immigration, Transport, and Works.

The Cabinet also approved close collaboration with the CHOGM 2026 coordinating team, utilizing existing logistical frameworks and inter-agency systems to ensure a successful event.
