Trevon Giddings

Officer Trevon Giddings is seeking assistance from the public in his journey to rebuilding his life.

On May 25, 2025, officer Trevon Giddings life changed forever.

He was responding to a report of masked men in the Potters area and was shot three times.

Two of those shots were in his leg. Despite best efforts, his right leg had to be amputated.

While it did drastically change his life, Officer Giddings is moving forward and adapting to his new normal. A new normal which would include a prosthetic leg.

It is for that reason why he made the appeal to the public via Facebook.

“I survived something that changed my life forever. Now I’m rebuilding, step by step with my head held high,” Giddings wrote in the post.

A Go Fund me has been set up where the public can make donations.

  1. The government should make this happen, he was on duty, we can give but it’s medical benefits ect, officers should be at every corner picking up money for him, you all not loyal no man left behind, carry him on you all backs, PD call businesses, churches, government officials get this man the help he needs.

  2. I am glad he realized that something had happened to change his life. And I am not being bitter, but I hope his life change for the better. This man was and has been rude during his illness not only very rude but arrogant to the medical team I only hope he has changed for the better. I pray he get the help he truly need to progress and continue his life in a meaningful way.
What happened to the police federation, medical benefit? Were whoever in charge of one nation was aware this officer needed help? A % of Tosha cobbs fee could have helped……. You’ll can come after me if you so desire. The truth is just the truth

    • Not making any excuses for him but life changing trama causes adverse psychological responses from a person that’s not their normal behavior. I know first hand because I have dealt with family members who went through this. Did they offer him any psychological therapy? Not only did he loose his leg but he lost his livelihood in an instant in a violent way and now have to beg for assistance. I think he knew that the police foce nor the government would take care of him in the aftermath. That’s a lot for this individual to ponder. I think we can give him some grace. I hope he gets all the help he needs.

    • Knowing giddings for years hes a cool dude dont judge if he happened to behave a certain way durimg his illness it must be because ofvtbe situation and accepting that he ñost a leg and what had happened to him. Assuming your part of the medical team u should know that all patients react different to life changing trauma. Young police officer who loves the gym also a young bodybuilder that has to hit hard.

  3. So where is the Police Service Commission and the government? They should be the ones financing the officer’s medical expenses and other needs. Is this why we get the kind of service from our police officers? If so, I can’t hold them 100% responsible

  5. The government should assist. A public servant losing a limb in the line of duty should not have to figure out how he will pay for treatment, a prosthesis, physical and psychological therapy, etc. Come on, make this happen and ensure that there are systems and funds in place to assist others that are injured in the line of their policing duties.

  6. While I am not opposed to helping I believe the government should fully cover the cost since he got injured in the line of duty.

It should not have even come to that

  8. I feel for him as a young man whose life changed forever. But the public’s distrust of the police didn’t come out of thin air.

  9. I don’t support the police the way they operate, but no one deserves to lose a limb doing their job. I’m truly sorry for what happened to him.

  11. By right the government suppose to provide that for him,he was hurt in line of duty,he could have lost his life. He should never be left to ask public for help,it is a disgrace on the government part, his life matters this work these men and women are doing each day are life threatening there should be proper insurance coverage,im really saddened to hear such treatment are being treated to these vvip people they are trying to protect us and who is protecting them ?they are human just like us he deserves a proper and comfortable life why should he have to ask for public assistance 🤔 come on the government needs to do better than that omy injustice is never going to stop

  13. Why isn’t there a guaranteed fund for officers injured on duty? Charity shouldn’t replace policy.
