The Water Business Unit (WBU) of the Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) has issued a water service advisory affecting several communities supplied by the Barnacle Point facility.
According to APUA, a fault involving high conductivity intrusion has been detected at the Barnacle Point facility. As a result, some customers may experience an increase in salinity levels in their water supply.
APUA’s technical team is currently carrying out testing and flushing of the distribution lines as part of efforts to restore and maintain acceptable water quality standards.
The affected areas include Barnes Hill, Carlisle, Cassada Gardens Booster Station servicing communities from Friars Hill North to Boons Point, Coolidge, Grays Hill Reservoir and surrounding areas from St. John’s City to Five Islands, New Winthorpes, Paynters West, Piggotts west of the playing field, Potters West, Scotts Hill Reservoir, and nearby communities.
APUA has apologised for the inconvenience and has thanked customers for their patience and understanding as work continues to resolve the issue.
Residents are encouraged to remain alert for further updates from the utility provider as the situation develops.

Thats why I wash my dishes in drinking water
Appreciate the notice, but people need clear guidance on what is safe and what isn’t.
This is not informative at all. Is the water safe to use for dishes? What is the eta for resolution?
