New Cruise Terminal to Be Unveiled as Antigua and Barbuda Enters Next Chapter of Cruise Tourism

Antigua and Barbuda is set to mark a major milestone in its tourism development with the official unveiling of a new cruise terminal at Antigua Cruise Port on January 24, 2026.

The unveiling will signal the next chapter in the evolution of cruise tourism in the country, following years of planning, design, and construction aimed at modernising port infrastructure and enhancing the visitor experience. In the days leading up to the opening, Antigua Cruise Port has begun sharing the story behind the project, taking the public behind the scenes from concept to completion.

The new terminal is part of the Upland Development Project, a partnership between the Government of Antigua and Barbuda and Global Ports Holding (GPH). The initiative reflects a shared vision to upgrade cruise facilities, improve passenger flow and amenities, and create sustainable economic benefits for Antiguans and Barbudans through increased cruise activity and expanded onshore opportunities.

According to Antigua Cruise Port, the project began with bold ideas that were gradually refined into detailed plans and architectural designs, laying the foundation for a development that aligns with international cruise standards while maintaining a distinct Antiguan identity.

The new facility is expected to play a key role in strengthening Antigua and Barbuda’s position within the regional and global cruise market, offering an improved arrival experience for passengers and new opportunities for local businesses and entrepreneurs.

As the countdown continues toward the January 24 unveiling, Antigua Cruise Port says it remains committed to unlocking quay opportunities for Antigua and Barbuda, as the country looks ahead to a more modern, competitive, and sustainable cruise tourism future.
