Water Service Restored to Barnacle Point After APUA Resolves Quality Issue

Residents of Barnacle Point can expect the immediate restoration of their water supply following corrective action taken by the Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA).

In an advisory issued on Wednesday, January 22, APUA confirmed that recent production tests show Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) levels are now within acceptable limits, clearing the way for normal water distribution to resume.

According to the utility provider, the issue was traced to one of the production units at the Ivan Rodrigues Plant. APUA stated that the necessary corrective measures have since been implemented, successfully resolving the problem.

“Water distribution to the previously affected areas will resume immediately,” the authority said in its update.

APUA also expressed appreciation to customers for their patience and understanding while the matter was being addressed, noting that efforts were focused on ensuring water quality standards were met before restoring service.

Residents of Barnacle Point are advised to monitor their supply as normal service resumes.
