Night road work

The Ministry of Works has announced that night roadworks will begin at 7:00 p.m. tonight in the Collins area near Pares Village.

In a public notice issued on Monday, the Ministry advised motorists and residents to exercise caution, as heavy-duty equipment will be operating during the works. Traffic disruption is expected, and road users are being urged to follow all posted detours and comply with instructions from traffic control personnel on site.

The Ministry has also advised residents to remove their vehicles from the affected areas ahead of the start of the works to avoid damage or inconvenience.

Officials say the night works are part of ongoing efforts to improve road conditions, and they are appealing for the cooperation of the public to ensure the safety of workers and motorists alike.

  1. Good to know the works are happening at night, it should reduce traffic disruption during the day. Still, I hope everyone follows the detours and stays alert; heavy machinery at night can be dangerous.

  2. Drivers should give themselves extra time if traveling near the area. Night construction plus heavy equipment can slow things down more than usual.
