Popular Antiguan race car driver Jason Marsh of English Harbour is hospitalised in the United States Virgin Islands following a serious racing accident in St. Croix.

Information presented to Cabinet indicates that Marsh sustained multiple injuries during one of the races in which he was competing. Cabinet Spokesman Maurice Merchant reported that the driver suffered a broken back, a broken neck, and several other fractures, and remains in serious condition.

Cabinet took note of the incident and extended best wishes to Marsh for a full recovery. The Government also pledged its support to assist with his medical care and the lengthy rehabilitation process expected to follow.

Marsh is widely known in the local motorsport community and has represented Antigua and Barbuda in regional racing events.
