Residents are being reminded that arriving at the hospital by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) does not automatically guarantee immediate treatment.
According to EMS Public Relations Officer Morvin Fiedtkou, a common misconception exists that EMS transport ensures faster medical attention upon arrival at the hospital. He explained that while EMS involvement signals urgency, all patients are assessed and prioritised based on the severity of their condition — not the mode of arrival.

Fiedtkou noted that some individuals misuse the ambulance service in the belief that it will allow them to bypass standard triage procedures. However, hospital protocols require medical staff to evaluate every patient and determine treatment priority according to clinical need.
He stressed that EMS resources are intended for genuine emergencies and urged the public to use the service responsibly, ensuring ambulances remain available for those facing life-threatening situations.
