Masked Intruders Assault Family During Home Invasion in Royal Gardens

Police are investigating a violent home invasion that left a family traumatized after masked intruders stormed their Royal Gardens residence on Sunday evening.

The incident occurred around 7:00 p.m. in the Royal Gardens area, which borders Hodges Bay and Cedar Grove. Reports indicate the family had just sat down for dinner when three masked males, believed to be between 15 and 17 years old, forcibly entered the home.

During the invasion, the suspects, who were reportedly armed assaulted the father, striking him with a firearm before restraining members of the household. The intruders then ransacked the residence, making off with various items before fleeing the scene on foot.

Police responded swiftly after receiving the report, and initial investigations were launched shortly thereafter. It is unclear at this time whether any arrests have been made, or the full extent of the injuries sustained by the victims.

The incident has sparked concern among residents, with some expressing fears of a resurgence of home invasions reminiscent of a troubling period more than a decade ago.

  3. So it seems that the family may know them.
My question is didn’t they ensure their doors were locked? Regardless it is sad when people can’t even have a quiet dinner in the early evening without being attacked.

  4. This is frightening. Royal Gardens used to be quiet. If this can happen there at 7pm, nowhere feels safe. Lord help Antigua.

  5. I feel sick reading this. Angry that it happened, scared it could happen to anyone, and sad for that family who will never forget this night.

  6. It’s scary that the suspects are reportedly teenagers. Part of me feels anger because of what they did, and another part feels sadness because kids shouldn’t be living this kind of life. Something is broken

  7. This story really shook me. I’m grateful the family is alive, but I’m angry that this even happened and heartbroken for what they went through. Sitting down to eat and suddenly fighting for your life is something no one should experience.
