LIAT Air and Surinam Airways have announced the start of discussions aimed at establishing an interline partnership, a move expected to significantly enhance air connectivity between the Caribbean and South America.
Once finalized, the proposed agreement would allow passengers to travel across both airlines’ networks on a single ticket, with coordinated baggage handling and smoother transfer connections. The arrangement is designed to make regional and international travel more convenient, flexible, and accessible for customers.
For LIAT Air, the partnership would extend its reach beyond its current route network, opening new gateways into South America.
At the same time, Surinam Airways would gain stronger access to key Caribbean markets, supporting increased passenger movement across the region.
The expanded network is expected to create fresh opportunities for tourism growth, business travel, and wider regional integration, while offering travelers greater choice and a more seamless end-to-end journey.
Both airlines say they are optimistic about the discussions and look forward to advancing the partnership as part of their shared commitment to improving regional air travel and connectivity.

Right now I’m only interested in travelling to Panama. Does this Surinam Airways fly there?
