Twenty-five-year-old Matthew Rose and 46-year-old Byron Cross are hospitalized after being shot during a gun attack in the Collins area on Tuesday evening.

According to reports, two Collins residents were walking along Collins Road around 7:30 p.m. when they were approached by two masked men, who opened fire before fleeing the scene.

Rose was shot once in the back, with the bullet reportedly lodging in his abdomen, while Cross sustained a single gunshot wound to the right cheek.

Both men were rushed to Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where they are listed in stable condition and continue to receive medical care.

Investigators have not yet disclosed a motive for the shooting and say inquiries are ongoing.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information that could assist the investigation to contact the police or Crimestoppers.

  5. Imagine just walking home and this happen. Life change in seconds. I believe these fellas were targetted. No way two random men just walked up and randomly shoot two people. No way. They had it in for them
