A significant boost has been given to community healthcare support efforts following a US$20,000 donation from the Mill Reef Fund to the Rotary Club of Antigua.
The funds will support two of the Club’s longstanding service initiatives, the Bed At Home and Wheelchair Project both of which provide essential medical equipment to individuals and families in need across Antigua and Barbuda.
The donation was formally presented by Ms. Helene van Beuren, Chair of the Mill Reef Fund, who reaffirmed the organisation’s dedication to investing in community programmes that create meaningful and lasting impact. She noted that the Fund remains committed to supporting initiatives that directly improve the well-being of residents.
The Rotary Club’s Bed At Home and Wheelchair Project focuses on supplying hospital beds and wheelchairs to persons facing health challenges but lacking the financial means to acquire the equipment themselves. The programme has been instrumental in allowing many individuals to receive more comfortable and dignified care within their homes.
Rotary Club of Antigua President Elisa Graham expressed gratitude for the timely contribution, stating that the funding will significantly strengthen the Club’s ability to meet growing demand.
She said the donation will translate directly into improved mobility, enhanced comfort, and better quality of care for beneficiaries throughout the country.
Through partnerships such as this, the Rotary Club continues to expand its humanitarian outreach, reinforcing its mission of service above self while addressing critical needs within the community.

US$20,000 isn’t massive, but it can go a long way with equipment. Thanks for your generosity
They were not obliged to do it, so regardless of the amount we are truly grateful
