The Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda has thrown its full support behind a major new tourism investment — Reset Wellness Antigua — a next-generation development aimed at expanding the country’s tourism product into the rapidly growing global wellness market.
The project was presented to Cabinet by its principals, who outlined a vision to diversify Antigua and Barbuda’s tourism sector beyond traditional sun-and-sand offerings.
Reset Wellness Antigua is designed to attract longer-stay, higher-spending visitors while maintaining a low-density footprint and strong environmental safeguards.
Located at Harmony Hall at Brown’s Bay Mill in Freetown, near Non-Such Bay and Brown’s Bay Beach, the development is positioned to blend luxury wellness experiences with Antigua’s natural landscape.
During the construction phase, the project is expected to generate between 150 and 200 direct jobs, with more than 90 percent of workers drawn from the local labour force.
Local trades — including civil works, electrical installation, plumbing, HVAC services, landscaping and finishing — will be engaged, creating opportunities for skills development and increased economic participation.
Once operational, which is anticipated within 24 months, the development is projected to provide between 80 and 120 permanent jobs. These roles will include wellness practitioners, specialized service providers, culinary professionals, maintenance staff and administrative personnel.
Sustainability is a central pillar of the development. Plans include:
• Solar energy integration
• Passive cooling architectural design
• Green roof systems
• Native plant reintroduction
• Stormwater management systems
• Terrain-sensitive design to reduce visual impact
The first phase will utilize five of the 12-acre property and include approximately 172 units under the Antigua and Barbuda Citizenship by Investment Programme. The consortium — which includes local partners — is projected to invest more than US$40 million during this phase.
Cabinet has pledged full support for the project, including concessions available under the Citizenship by Investment legislation.
The administration reaffirmed its commitment to attracting high-quality, sustainable tourism developments that generate employment, stimulate economic growth, and strengthen Antigua and Barbuda’s global tourism brand.
Reset Wellness Antigua represents a strategic shift toward health, wellness and experiential travel — positioning the twin-island nation to compete in one of the fastest-growing segments of the international tourism industry.

Another proposed project that may never see the light of day but I wish ten well
Sounds great, however, what is being done to improve the customer experience at departures, immigration and security at our main airport hub?.
