Daily Traffic Delays Expected as Infrastructure Work Progresses

The Ministry of Works’ Project Implementation Management Unit (PIMU) informs the public that single-lane traffic will continue to facilitate ongoing infrastructure repairs on major roads.

Ongoing Works

  • Valley Road North: Road markings, concrete, and drainage works in the areas around Jennings, Jolly Harbour, and Sugar Ridge will take place daily, starting at approximately 8:00 a.m.

  • Old Parham Road: Road markings, along with drain cleaning and repairs from Grant Thornton to Ihem Mini Mart heading eastwards, will also commence daily at approximately 8:00 a.m.

  • Sir Sydney Walling Highway: Road markings, asphalt work, and junction and shoulder repairs will continue in the vicinity of Glanvilles moving westwards, starting daily at approximately 8:00 a.m.

Flag personnel will be present, and motorists are urged to adhere to all instructions to ensure a safe passage, as heavy-duty equipment will be operating near the construction zones.

Note: All businesses remain open during this time.

C.O. Williams Ltd. sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience caused. This road work is part of the Second Road Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project being undertaken by the Government of Antigua and Barbuda.

  1. Valley Road is always a nightmare during rush hour, this isn’t helping.

  2. I’m happy about the road improvements, especially for safety and smoother traffic in the future, but annoyed that commuting is going to get slower. Hopefully, the flag personnel are diligent and motorists cooperate. It’s frustrating, but I’d rather a temporary slowdown than dangerous roads.
