Work is continuing along Buckleys Line as crews move ahead with a major mainline upgrade aimed at strengthening the country’s water distribution network.
Teams are currently replacing ageing pipelines with high-density polyethylene (HDPE) piping, a more durable material designed to improve system reliability, reduce leaks, and enhance water flow to surrounding communities. The upgrade forms part of ongoing efforts to modernize critical infrastructure and ensure a more consistent water supply for residents and businesses in the area.
Officials say the new HDPE piping will offer greater resilience against corrosion and ground movement, helping to minimize future service disruptions and maintenance challenges.
Motorists and other road users are being urged to exercise caution when travelling through the active work zone. Drivers are encouraged to follow posted signs and directions from on-site personnel to ensure the safety of workers and the public.
Authorities have expressed appreciation for the public’s patience and cooperation as the essential improvements continue.

Finally! Buckleys Line was long overdue for this kind of upgrade!
Honestly, I’m frustrated with the slow traffic, but I can’t deny the importance of this work. Buckleys Line needed an upgrade years ago. Replacing the old pipes with HDPE will reduce leaks, improve flow, and make the system more reliable long-term. Patience is tough, but it’s worth it.
Will this improve the water distribution in Olivers estate?
