Sir Ronald Sanders, the ambassador of Antigua and Barbuda to the United States
Antigua and Barbuda’s Ambassador to the United States, Sir Ronald Sanders, has firmly rejected claims circulating online that the validity of U.S. visitor visas issued to Antiguan and Barbudan passport holders has been reduced to three months.
The assertion was published on Thursday by the Virgin Islands Consortium, which reported that updated reciprocity schedules from the U.S. Department of State reflected a downgrade in visa validity for Antigua and Barbuda, as well as Dominica. The article, however, did not specify when those schedules were accessed or verified.
Sir Ronald, speaking to State Media ABS, has dismissed the report as inaccurate, making it clear that there has been no official confirmation of any such reduction in the validity period of U.S. visas for Antigua and Barbuda nationals.
The Ambassador noted that he remains in active dialogue with U.S. officials regarding visa-related matters, including previously announced restrictions by Washington late last year and the subsequent pause in the processing of immigrant visas — commonly referred to as green cards — affecting 75 countries.
He emphasized that any changes to visa arrangements between Antigua and Barbuda and the United States would be formally communicated through official diplomatic channels.
The Government of Antigua and Barbuda continues to monitor developments closely as discussions with U.S. authorities remain ongoing.
