The Embassies of Antigua and Barbuda in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the State of Qatar have issued an urgent advisory to nationals following reports of recent security incidents linked to escalating military activity in the Middle East.

In a notice dated February 28, 2026, the embassies confirmed that they are closely monitoring developments in both the UAE and Qatar as regional tensions continue to unfold.

While specific details surrounding the incidents were not outlined, officials indicated that the security concerns are connected to ongoing military operations in the wider region.

Citizens and residents of Antigua and Barbuda currently in the affected areas are being urged to remain calm but vigilant. The advisory specifically calls on nationals to seek shelter indoors immediately, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay alert to official updates from local authorities.

The embassies emphasised that the situation remains fluid and that further information will be provided as it becomes available.

Emergency services in the UAE can be reached by dialling 999. Antiguan and Barbudan nationals requiring assistance may contact the Antigua and Barbuda Embassy in the UAE at +971 542121897 or +971 542121898.

The advisory comes amid heightened geopolitical tensions in parts of the Middle East, where military activity has contributed to increased security concerns across several countries.

Governments in the region have been issuing precautionary measures as they assess potential risks to residents and visitors.

Antigua and Barbuda’s diplomatic missions say they will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates to ensure the safety and well-being of their citizens abroad.
